Schweitzer Appraisals was founded in 1983 by Mark C. Schweitzer. We incorporated in
2006, under the name Schweitzer Appraisals, Inc. Mark has worked on residential and
commercial appraisals since 1978. Along with the integrity of Schweitzer Appraisals, the
guiding principles of the firm concerning the truth about value have gone unchanged since
1983. We have provided objective opinions concerning fair market valuations of real
property for 30 years. Throughout its history, Schweitzer Appraisals has given its clients
valuations that reflect the actions of buyers and sellers in the marketplace.

From the beginning, Schweitzer Appraisals' system of appraising was designed to present
value conclusions derived by using verifiable sales data and common sense (experience).
Orders are taken by the administrative staff and assigned to appraisers based on the
complexity of each job. Data research in the public domain is conducted prior to inspection
and is designed to prevent skewing the results of the research to certain value ranges.
This research is done to determine probable price points within a defined market area.
This preliminary unrefined data can be transmitted to our clients, upon request. This data
should not and cannot be construed as a value range that a professional appraiser will
conclude within, as many factors not reflected in price points will affect a value conclusion.  
 

Schweitzer Appraisals, Inc. accepts data provided by our clients as long as it is available in
the public domain, but we are uninfluenced by any opinions about value, save for our own.
Our opinions on value are not those of advocacy, predetermined ranges, or loyalty to one
client over another.
As professional appraisers, we never lose sight of the fact that our
opinions on value represent only our measurements of the market at any given time. The
market dictates value; we are but its humble observers. We continually stress that we are
the eyes and ears for our clients and do not lose sight of our responsibility to document
and analyze the various components that impact on real property value.
